With Us

Volunteering with Mission to the Margins is a personal response to the amazing grace of God’s love to us, seen most clearly in Christ’s life, death, and resurrection (see John 3:16 and Isaiah 61:1,2). Motivated in response to His great love and empowered by His Spirit within us, we want to obey His commands and share this love. Volunteering with M2M is an expression of that response. It is built on two themes we see in Scripture: Going To and Gathering. Christians can see the imperative to Go To in passages like Matthew 4 & 28, Mark 1, Luke 19, and the book of Acts in the New Testament, and we catch a glimpse of it in Genesis 12 in the Old Testament. We can see the imperative for Gathering in passages like Matthew 22, Luke 14, and Ephesians 2 in the New Testament, and in Exodus 12, Deuteronomy 10, Leviticus 19, and the book of Ruth in the Old Testament.

At Mission to the Margins we work together in teams, we pray much, and we witness God’s kingdom come; in us and through us to the community we serve in Christ’s name.

‘Gathering’ Volunteer Opportunities

Gathering Place Outreach

Monday, Thursday & Saturday evenings we operate a Gathering Place Outreach for the community. We serve a warm meal; folks can access a shower, food bank, clothing room, laundry - all free. Relationship, mentorship, belonging, and discipleship happen. Prayers are offered, seeds are sown. Join a team, make friends, change deeply.
Bible Study

We currently run three weekly Bible studies throughout the week at different locations. Come check one out. Learn more in the ‘What We Do’ section.
Kitchen Team

As part of a team you can plan, prep and serve delicious and nutritious warm meals for our community, in Jesus’ name. We are always happy to have another pair of hands in the kitchen.
Prayer Team

Christians are a people of prayer. This ministry would quickly sag into formalism if not for the gift of prayer. Prayer is a lifeline to God; an anchor that holds us fast to Him. Contact us to learn how you can join in praying for the work of M2M.

Visit Camps

Come along on a visit to a homeless camp. Show up. Bless generously. Make friends. Repeat.
Home Visits

Visiting the housebound, sick, and elderly: it’s one of the oldest Christian vocations in the Book. Reach out to learn how you can come along and make friends. In Jesus’ name.
Street Ministry at Trinity

Every Wednesday we show up at Trinity. We serve coffee, we give things away. We pray together, we make friends, we share life. ‘We are the aroma of Christ’ - the apostle Paul, 2 Cor. 2:15
Street Evangelism & Outreach

As a team go out onto the streets. You pray, you walk, you meet, you listen, you pray, you speak, you bless; worlds change.

Admin

You love to organize, plan, keep on top of things. And you have some time to give.
Procurement

You can connect with businesses and supporters. You know where to find the things we need, and you want to help in Jesus’ name.
Assemble Medic Kits

You appreciate the value of your First Aid kit at home. You can help by assembling these in a ziplock bag, then we will get them into the backpacks of homeless friends.
Event Planning

You love to plan and see a project through from concept, through execution, to wrap up. For the good of the community, in Jesus’ name.
Build Homeless Care Kits

Building these homeless kits is one way we the church shows we see and we care. You assemble, we give away.
Church Liaison

You know people in your church or other churches and you want to see the church engage with the poor. You are passionate and you love to share. You will serve as a bridge between M2M and the church.
