Where We Go

Going To and Gathering

Whether it’s the soup kitchen, homeless shelter, or out on the street, Mission to the Margins is there.

Ray of Hope

The Ray of Hope serves as a sanctuary for people experiencing poverty and homelessness in Kitchener and Waterloo Region. Their community centre and marketplace are an anchor in this community, building health and belonging.

Grace Bible Church

Our home base, our office, our launch pad, and a solid rock of volunteer support. Grace Bible Church have been supporters all the way along. And we host one of our Bible studies here too Fridays 1:00-2:30pm.

Urban Hope / Cambridge Vineyard

We love our friends at Urban Hope! We are here Tuesdays over lunch to connect with guests, and we run one of our Bible study discussion groups from 12:30-2:00pm. Then on Monday, Thursday and Saturday evenings from 6:00-8:30 (and sometimes later in the coldest months) volunteers from M2M open the doors to the community for friendship, prayer, and belonging over a hot meal, free showers, laundry, food bank, a clothing room, and our DIY Bike Clinic in the warm months.

The Streets

of Cambridge and Kitchener

The street is where the action is. We are on the streets on a regular basis. We stop and listen, we connect with people and meet new people, we pray with people, we buy a coffee, we encourage and support one another, we point friends to Jesus.

150 Main Drop-In Centre

If it’s mid-afternoon and you need to find someone living rough, one place to check is right here. An open door for those experiencing homelessness to get out of the weather, with lots of access to services, and plenty of snacks, we make it a point to visit and spend time with our friends here.

Trinity Community Table

For over 30 years Trinity has been serving the community with hot meals and a place to come in and rest every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. With the pandemic they have had to pivot, serving lunches at the door. Mission to the Margins is there at the curb every Wednesday, serving coffee and giving resources for living outdoors as well as prayer, Bibles, and copies of Our Daily Bread. Trinity is another steady anchor in the community.

Homeless Camps

The homeless camp experience is a nomadic life. With folks tending to not stay in one place very long before being told to move along, the camps are always around regardless, and we seek them out and go to them. In addition to bringing the necessities of life we bring care, a listening ear, prayer, and encouragement: the presence of Christ where least expected.

Bridges Homeless Shelter

It can be a real roller coaster, but the Bridges is a place lots of people have to use when there is literally nowhere else to go. Great staff caring for fine folks going through hard times. This is one of the places we regularly stop in.

Low Income Housing

As we get to know people and trust develops, it doesn’t take long until we are invited to visit people where they live. It is an honour to be invited to visit someone as a guest in their home. We embrace these opportunities, understanding that a relationship can grow from this, with the possibility to pray and to serve… perhaps have a role in an encounter with Jesus.

Outreach with Partner Churches

From time to time we learn of church partners beginning ministries for low income and poor in their neighbourhoods. If it is a good fit Mission to the Margins will plug in with these ministries as community chaplains. Alongside the host church we bring care, a listening ear, prayer, and encouragement.

To Bring the presence of Christ where it is not expected.

Our office is located at 2 Grand Avenue South in Galt.
